It has been my honor to serve as Chairman of the Search Committee for the new pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church, along with Committee Members – Tyrone Muse, Eloise Edwards, Herman Scott, Kendra Evans-Ellis, and Reverend Kenneth Ray Hammond. We are pleased to recommend to you, the members of Union Baptist, Reverend Prince Raney Rivers.

The search for a new pastor began several years ago, with surveys from the Strategic Planning Committee asking for input from the church membership as to what they wanted from a pastor. From the information gathered, a pastoral profile was developed. Names were submitted for consideration for the pastoral position and it became evident that Reverend Prince Raney Rivers met all the qualifications that the church outlined. It is with prayerful consideration we present Reverend Rivers as our new pastor. We have vetted our choice and we are confident that he will serve us well. Reverend Rivers is one of our own having served as an intern here at UBC while at Duke Divinity School; he served as our Youth Minster and was ordained by Pastor Hammond. Reverend Rivers meets all our qualifications with his education and ministerial experience. However, most importantly, we find him to be a Man of God who can give us a vision for the future at Union Missionary Baptist Church, with the help of God.

Prayerfully submitted,
Michael G. Jones, Sr.
